Hey! I’m Laura, I’m the founder of Well Balanced©

My Journey

I’ve been a nurse for over 10 years and I’ve worked in a variety of areas of nursing. From retirement homes, nursing homes, to hospitals, working in the operating room, clinics, and homecare, I’ve seen a lot. And I’ve learned over the years how precious the value of optimal health is.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always been interested in the health & wellness field. It is why I initially became a nurse. I have always been passionate about helping others with their health. On the side of nursing I grew my passion for fitness & nutrition, working as a fitness instructor/ personal trainer for years along side as working as a nurse.

But in 2020, I knew I wanted to make helping women with their health my main priority. Which is why I went back to school for nutrition, and have since then taken courses to learn more about women’s hormones and metabolism. I also had been under-going a lot of unexpected health changes myself from coming off the birth control pill. And since I was a little girl, I have struggled with anxiety, depression, and poor gut-health.

I understand what it’s like to struggle to find answers. To feel at the end of your rope with your health. I tried everything. Restrictive diets, fad diets, calorie counting. All thinking it would make a difference, only to end up feeling worse, and eating worse than I normally would.

I was determined to make a change. So I changed my lifestyle and the way I look at food. I changed my modalities of exercise. I focused on real organic and simple natural food choices. I changed where I put my energy and what I put my faith in.

Today I feel happier than I ever have. I have a lifestyle that I am in love with, and I have the tools to help me manage my anxiety, hormones, and gut-health.

It is now my mission to be able to help other women feel the same happiness, because you deserve it.

It’s finally time to feel good in your body. To love and except your body. Listen to your body, and work with it, instead of fight against it. Listen in to it’s signs and signals, your body will always tell you when something is out of balance.
